Which questions are worth the money?

Posted May 12, 2018 07:13:46 For a couple of months, I had a conversation with a local accountant who was doing some work on a house I was considering for a client.
I was thinking it would be a great project and we would be able to put together a budget together.
But then, the house fell through.
The buyer said it was “too expensive”, and that it was a bit too complicated.
It was the first time I’d been able to think about my options.
It turned out that I was dealing with a real estate agent, and he had a different view of things.
He said: “We don’t have any clients at the moment.”
That was the point when I realised that the best thing to do was to get a bit more professional advice.
In an ideal world, the first step would be to tell the agent: “I’m really worried about this project.
Do you think I should have a more detailed financial report and go through it yourself?”
I then realised that it would make the agent feel a bit better, and that’s the kind of advice I needed.
I went back to the agent and said: I’d like to go back and talk to you.
It turned out I didn’t need to go through the whole financial report.
I could just give the client my account number and see what I was doing.
That’s the advice I’m going to give you, and it won’t change the price or the project, but it will help you get the best deal.
