“As a rule, older women are less likely to ask for an in-person interview and less likely than younger women to ask an exit interviewer,” the study said.

“So it’s very hard for the younger generation to say ‘I’d like to speak with my boss’,” said Dallel.

“It’s not always an option for them.”
